My Favorite Time of Year

Fall is my absolute favorite season. This time of year I love to check out the fall festivals and take scenic drives to see the leaves changing colors. Last year, I drove up Georgia 400 past Dahlonega and made a day of it. There are some great scenic drives to take in.

This link Scenic Drives provides details and directions for 5 amazing scenic drives. Enjoy!

Where the deals are...

I know I said this before but the $35,000 buyer incentive offered by D.R. Horton is, by far, the best deal in town. See my post from September 13th for more details. There are, however, many builders offering incentives to make buying their homes more attractive to someone that may be sitting on the fence. For instance, Tryson Homes will buy your current home if you purchase one of theirs. (This could be a better deal than D.R. Horton if no one wants your home.) Ryland Homes is offering a choice of one of the following: a 1/2 price basement, 40% off upgrades, or $15,000 toward closing costs. Finally, Pulte and Bowen Homes are both offering $10,000 in buyer incentives. This money can be used for upgrades, closing costs, and other expenses. One caveat is that you often are required to use the builder's preferred lender to receive these incentives.

This is truly a great time to be a buyer. The deals are there and builders are certainly motivated.

Peachtree Malone Loft Available for Rent

Today I visited Peachtree Malone lofts. This community is located ITP (inside the perimeter) near 285 and Peachtree Industrial. There is currently an awesome 1 bedroom, 2 bath unit available for rent. Its got great concrete floors and exposed ductwork that everybody loves in lofts. It also has an additional room that can be used as a den, office or really, really, really small bedroom. The community has covered parking and is within walking distance of the MARTA station. The monthly rent is $1,095.

What to do this weekend...

This weekend there are plenty of options. Stevie Wonder will be at Chastain Park on Friday, September 14th. Lizz Wright will be performing at the Variety Playhouse that same night. Carl Thomas, Tank, Musiq Soulchild, J Holiday, Mario, and others will be performing this weekend at For Sisters Only at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Builder offers $35,000 in buyer incentives!

We've all heard that its a buyer's market. Well one builder is offering an incredible incentive to convince you that now is the time to buy. D. R. Horton is offering $35,000 to buyers that purchase in any of their communities and close by the end of September. Unfortunately, you can't receive this as cash. (I wish!) You can, however, use it to reduce the purchase price, pay closing costs, upgrade the home, or buy down the interest rate. As a side note, buying down the interest rate is the way to go. This is far more effective than reducing the purchase price. You reduce your monthly payment and that allows you to buy more house than the $35,000 would get you if it were applied to the purchase price. D.R. Horton has over 35 communities in the metro Atlanta area. Check out their website for more details http://www.drhorton.com/
